Emerging from the heart of Dallas, Texas, SUBSTR8 stands as a dynamic and influential figure in
the world of electronic music. His foray into the genre was ignited by an encounter with the
haunting melodies of the Canadian trip hop duo, Villain Accelerate, marking the beginning of an
illustrious journey into the depths of electronic soundscapes.

SUBSTR8's musical exploration, initially rooted in trip hop, soon branched out into the realm of
techno. A life-altering moment occurred in 2018 when he stumbled upon the sounds of Refused,
a pioneering techno label. It was Francois Dillinger’s track "Unidentified" that firmly steered his
focus towards the realms of Techno and Minimal Techno, genres that would come to define his
artistic identity.
